Are you looking to find a job in the San Francisco Bay Area or Redwood Empire. Three local papers publish their classified ads online, and can be viewed for free:

To find out national industry trends and names of some of the best companies to work for in the country, visit Plunkett Research's site. By previewing sections of their books online, you can find "The Plunkett 500," a list of top companies to work for in the nation, many of them headquartered or represented in the San Francisco / Redwood Empire region.

Yana Parker's website has a wealth of information including answers to the "50 Most Asked Questions" about resumes. Ms. Parker is the author of "The Damn Good Resume Guide" available from the BOOKS section.

The California Employment Development Department has catalogued and defined virtually every job title and provided regional actual salary information for California jobs. Check out the Labor Market Information / California Occupational Guides to find out more about how what you are doing (or want to be doing) fits into today's job market.
If you are feeling under-qualified for a position, don't overlook the adult education and extension departments of universities and colleges in the Bay Area. You can obtain a Certificates and Letters of Professional Advancement within 3 months to a year from an accredited university. Employers are looking for individuals who are committed to continuing their education as well as someone with a degree. Check out the following sites:

Have legal questions but don't want to hire an attorney to find out the answers? Nolo Press publishes self-help legal books and provides online information and a very funny "lawyer jokes" page. They are the publisher of "Your Rights in the Workplace" available from the BOOKS section.

Do you feel extra-sensitive, aware of things that others aren't? Maybe you are psychic.
